Golden Alexander (Zizia aurea)

Overview: Golden Alexander is a perennial that is native to the eastern and Midwestern U.S. and can be found in moist woods, prairies and meadows. It resembles Queen Anne’s Lace but has yellow flowers. Plants bloom in spring and attracts butterflies, small pollinators, and other beneficial insects. Host plant for the Missouri Woodland Swallowtail and Black Swallowtail butterflies. Makes a good cut flower.
